Inheritance Taxes

Inheritance tax is a levy on assets inherited from a deceased person. There is no federal inheritance tax. As of 2022, inherited assets are taxed on residents of six states: Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Nebraska, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
