A business multiple is a factor that is used by many M&A advisors and prospective buyers to determine the value of a business. The multiple is determined by the industry or industries in which the business operates and by the risk factors of the company to the prospective buyer. When multiplied by the cash flow generated in a business, this provides an Estimate of Value for a business.
